ADNOC Supplier Registration

About ADNOC

Established in 1971, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) operates in all areas of the UAE’s Oil & Gas industry and is headquartered in Abu Dhabi. As of today, UAE holds the seventh-largest proven reserves of oil in the world at 97.8 billion barrels, all of which are mostly situated in Abu Dhabi. ADNOC is the world’s 12th largest oil company by production, producing 3.1 million barrels per day. With a focus on exploration, production, refining, and distribution, ADNOC has been instrumental in the development of the UAE’s economy and energy sector.

ADNOC consists of 15 subsidiary companies, covering all stages of Oil & Gas production, which are given below:

Exploration & Production of Oil and Gas – ADNOC Onshore, ADNOC Offshore, ADNOC Drilling, Al Yasat Petroleum, Al Dhafra Petroleum.

Processing & Refining – ADNOC Gas Processing – GASCO, Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge), ADNOC Sour Gas, ADNOC Oil Refining Company (Takreer), ADNOC LNG, ADNOC Fertilizers, ADNOC Industrial Gas

Marketing & Distribution – ADNOC Distribution, ADNOC Logistics & Services, Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline LLC (ADCOP)

Earlier, each subsidiary company had its program for vendor registration.

Currently, the registration process for all ADNOC subsidiaries has been centralized, meaning that with only one registration process, any company can become eligible to be invited to bid for relevant tenders from any of the subsidiaries, which in turn reduces the amount of time and efforts invested on every subsidiary registration.

About SPC

The Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC) is chaired by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al- Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The SPC formulates and oversees the implementation of Abu Dhabi petroleum Policies. If any company is seeking to be registered with ADNOC as a Vendor, it must have a prior approval from the SPC.

Eligibility for ADNOC registration?

SPC approval, a pre-requisite for ADNOC registration, is ideally given to a company having its license issued by the Abu Dhabi mainland licensing authority and having at least 51% of its shares owned by an Abu Dhabi local.

Lately, SPC approval is also being awarded to companies formed at the multiple free zones in Abu Dhabi. However, the approvals are decided by SPC on a case-to-case basis for these Abu Dhabi-free zone-based companies.

There are a few types of companies that can be registered with ADNOC. These are:

  • Vendor / Trader to supply Products to ADNOC
  • A manufacturer that produces materials or end products to deliver them to ADNOC
  • A contractor providing Services to ADNOC

Manufacturers from across UAE are eligible to be registered, but Vendor and Contracting companies must have their license issued from Abu Dhabi to be eligible for ADNOC registration.

Overseas manufacturers who wish to supply products to ADNOC can do so by having a tie-up with the relevant Vendor company in Abu Dhabi.
