As an Audit Associate, you will be involved in the planning and execution of financial audits, ensuring that financial statements and records comply with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the audit team and report to the Audit Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Analyze financial statements and accounting records to identify discrepancies or irregularities.
- Assist in the preparation of audit reports detailing audit findings, recommendations, and areas for improvement.
- Liaise with clients to obtain relevant documentation, explain audit processes, and resolve any queries.
- Maintain good working relationships with client personnel and stakeholders.
- Prepare audit documentation in accordance with firm policies and professional standards.
- Assist in the preparation of management letters, financial statements, and audit reports.
- Ensure all working papers and audit files are complete and accurate.
- Work collaboratively with audit teams to ensure audit timelines and client expectations are met.
- Provide support to senior auditors in complex engagements and specialized audits.
- Identify audit risks and assist in developing appropriate audit strategies.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and audit procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Working towards a CPA, ACCA, or CA certification (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of auditing standards (GAAS), accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS), and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and audit software (e.g., CaseWare).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
